International photography competition ‘Agora’ 2024 won the best award for WOW video and two themes, Bangladeshi young photographer Shahed Ahmed.

Shahed Ahmed is the son of Afaz Uddin and Shaheen Akter of Anantapur, Habiganj city. He completed his education in Brindavan College, Habiganj and is now working as a freelance photographer.

He is a businessman by profession. The first video in Agora was taken from his own home in 2022. It’s a video of a mother bird feeding her young. It is known that Agora in Barcelona, Spain organizes a photography competition every year on different topics. This year’s topic of the competition was WOW video two.

Thousands of the world’s best photographers submit their videos there, the jury selects the best 50 videos from thousands of videos.

The 50 videos selected by the judges were released for online voting. 5 videos were selected for the final round by an online vote of photographers.

Coming to the final stage, Shahed Ahmed’s video won with the most votes. Shahed Ahmed said, “My photography started as a hobby, slowly taking pictures turned into addiction. I started taking pictures from 2017, at first I used to take all kinds of pictures. Then suddenly I started liking to take pictures of birds, nature and wild life. In 2022, after taking many pictures of Phatikjal birds, I made a video of this moment in my mind, then made this video.

Expressing the feeling of his video being the best among the thousands of videos, Shahed Ahmed said, receiving the third international award at Agora is beyond words to express his happiness. I have managed to do something for the country, for which my photography life seems worthwhile. But this achievement will encourage me to do something good.
